During our H2Roadtrip we visited Mr Hydrogen Sweden in Gothenburg.
Hans-Olof Nilsson, a Swedish inspiring enthousiastic entrepreneur, decided 15 years ago to build a new house which is able to produce all the energy needed to live during the whole year by using “off shelve” components. He succeeded and kept improving this system over the years. To build his own grid he used standard solar panels on the roof, next to solar panels in the sidewalls of the house, battery storage, electrolyzers, hydrogen compressors and storage and a fuel cell in case the PV supply is insufficient. Of course heat pumps, reuse of cooling water and earth warmth equipment can also be found in “the machine room” of his house, which he showed us.
Today he is able to produce 2 KG a day during 10 months, more than enough for his house, so he decided to buy an H2 car and a new compressor to fill the car. So next to living off grid his next step is also to drive off grid. His entrepreneurial blood is still floating at 74 years of age, so he is designing now a turnkey off grid solution in a 19” cabinet serial production which includes all components except PV and H2 storage.
Compliment to Hans-Olof for his vision and perseverance to show the world the energy transition is possible, YOU JUST HAVE TO DO IT!
We believe in the same goal, that is why we are doing our H2Roadtrip.
Of course we gave him the book Green Energy for All from Ad van Wijk, Els van der Roest and Jos Boere, to thank him for his time.
Thanks Eva Corell for the contact.
