While the first hydrogen driven passenger ferry is launched in San Francisco last week, we had to decide not to travel to Greece and Turkey during our H2Roadtrip, but continue our way home through Swiss, France, Luxemburg and Belgium.
We had to decide this due to the fact that battery electric vehicles and hydrogen driven vehicles are not accepted on board of the ferries from Italy to Greece since the end of May this year. This teaches us that a lot of work still has to be done to ensure government, insurance companies and shipping companies that Hydrogen, if installed correctly, is a safe way to transport and to be transported.
Let’s work together to standardize European regulations for the use of hydrogen! This is the only way forward, like we do in the condor H2 project to make hydrogen modular, scalable and affordable. H2storage is a proud partner of Condor H2.
We are disappointed that we cannot make the H2Roadtrip as planned, but that’s also part of innovation and the challenge.
