During our H2roadtrip we have experienced that H2 refueling station (HRS) network is limited. But next to that it is not accessible for public use.

In Spain we have tried to contact different stations by email or phone, for refueling at their premises, no response at all and visiting them was impossible. They were also on restricted areas or closed at all.
Over the last decade a number of refueling stations are established for projects. These HRS are not open to public use due to regulations and or practical reasons. Some of these project HRS stations are even closed after the end of the project, which is a way of capital burning.

WE WANT TO MAKE A CALL to open these hydrogen refueling stations on demand to hydrogen users, to fill their equipment or vehicles. For this we need all of us to step out of its own bubble and look to the BIGGER PICTURE to support the use of hydrogen outside their own project. Cooperation between authorities, HRS-owners, Subsidy providers and hydrogen users should work together to utilize all infrastructure available for a successful energy transition in transport. The billing system may and cannot be an excuse not to do it!

So to all Hydrogen projects over Europe: please open your station on demand, to promote the use of hydrogen in European transport! DON’T WAIT UNTIL 2030!
